Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving

In a surprising partnership that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of prohibited practices and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The storyline features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine sect.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses

The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Additional Features

Players who finish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Addition

This release also introduces the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This signifies hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime properties. The series earlier included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
